Situated in the Royal Arsenal in Woolwich, the independent Taproom pub was set up in 2015. In yet another great example of London’s flourishing craft beer scene, the pub is run by the folks behind the Hop Stuff Brewery in London’s SE18.
Beers on tap range from the brewery’s own pale ales to IPAs and pils with various rotating guests of honour. Complimenting the beverage selection, the playful but luscious pizza menu comes with cheeky numbers such as White Pony, Herb Garden and Hawaii 5-000.
‘What’s a White Pony?’, I hear you say. Well, I believe there’s only one way to find out…
The new-meets-old décor of The Taproom jives with its once-industrial surroundings, making the most of the holy matrimony of exposed brick, natural wood and moody barren lighting. On warm (and not so warm) days the crowd files out onto the Major Draper Street offering a primo spot to debate the pros and cons of the whirlwind transformation underway in Woolwich.
